Commonly used size of galvanized steel plate (including hot-dip galvanized and electro-galvanized steel plate) will vary according to the use, national standards or industry habits, the following are common specification parameters:
1. Thickness
General purpose: 0.3mm~5.0mm
Thin sheet (common): 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm
Medium Thickness: 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm, 4.0mm, 5.0mm
Special use: thicker dimensions can be customized (such as galvanized plates for building structures can be up to 6mm or more).
2. Width
Common specifications: 600mm, 1000mm, 1219mm (48 inches), 1250mm, 1500mm
Coil width: usually 1000mm ~ 1500mm, can be cut according to demand.
3. Length
Sheet: 2000mm, 2440mm (8ft), 2500mm, 3000mm, 6000mm (standard size)
Roll material: length depends on the weight and thickness, the common roll weight of 3 ~ 15 tons, after unfolding can reach tens of meters to hundreds of meters.
4. Standard size reference
International Common Size:
4' x 8' (1219mm x 2438mm, commonly used in buildings)
4'×10'(1219mm×3048mm)
Domestic standards (GB/T 2518):
Width: 600mm~1500mm
Length: 1000mm~6000mm
5. Galvanized layer weight
Ordinary galvanizing quantity:
Double-sided galvanized layer: 60g/m² ~ 275g/m² (such as Z60, Z80, Z120, etc., the number represents the weight of grams)
High zinc layer (corrosion resistance): ≥180g/m² (e.g. Z180, Z275).
6. Common application corresponding size
Appliances / Automotive: thin sheet (0.3mm ~ 1.5mm), width 1000mm ~ 1250mm.
Building roof / wall: medium thickness plate (0.5mm ~ 3.0mm), width 600mm ~ 1250mm, length customized.
Steel structure: thick plate (2.0mm ~ 5.0mm), width above 1500mm.
Attentions
The actual procurement requires clear standards (such as national standards, ASTM, JIS, etc.), and the size range may vary from country to country.
The roll can be machined to any length, and the sheet is mostly fixed or double-dimensional.
Special applications (such as cable brackets, ventilation pipes) may require non-standard sizes.
It is recommended to confirm specifications and tolerances with suppliers according to specific needs.
